Kanpur MMS Case: Staff member arrested for Recording obscene videos at a Girls Hostel

Kanpur MMS case: A man has been arrested in Kanpur for covertly filming obscene recordings of a girl residing in a girls’ hostel in the Tulsi Nagar area of Rawatpur. Other hostel residents arrived at the police station and protested after the news of the incident broke out. However, the warden has been given bail in the case. The case is also shifted now to a fast track court.

The girls have claimed that the accused regularly went to the hostel and may have recorded similar footage of other girls there as well. This whole incident is of 29th September, 2022.

As per the sources, thee hostel employee started filming the victim as she was taking a bath by carefully placing his phone between a broken piece of the door. When she saw the cellphone, the victimised girl shouted. Other girls in the hostel quickly arrived at the scene after hearing her screams and grabbed the culprit. Watch a girl’s statement:

Based on the girls’ police station complaint, the culprit was arrested at Rawatpur. Additionally, the cops seize his cellphone, which is being examined by cyber experts. While, the owner of the building has said the he doesn’t have any information or relation with the incident.

Accused is a staff member of the hostel

The girls claim that the accused Rishi, a staff member of the hostel, used to frequently visit the hostel and that he recorded the video by sticking his phone into the lower portion of the damaged door. The hostel is run by a senior police officer and is situated in the Tulsi Nagar area. The hostel is home to about 60 female students who are studying for various competitive exams. Rishi, the accused, has worked at this hostel for the past seven years and is a resident of Sarvoday Nagar.

A video from the Chandigarh university was leaked earlier this month in a related incident. It is claimed that 60 female students were photographed while showering using a mobile device. In that case, four persons have been detained thus far.
