On a one-day visit to Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conducted a comprehensive review of preparations for the upcoming Kanwar Yatra and various ongoing development projects. The review meeting was held at the Kailash Mansarovar Bhawan in Indirapuram, where the CM met with public representatives and senior officials to assess the progress of over 20 government departments.
Strict Instructions to Ensure Devotee Safety and Comfort
CM Yogi issued clear directives to ensure that Kanwar pilgrims (Kanwariyas) face no inconvenience during the annual religious pilgrimage. He emphasized that both security and convenience must be top priorities throughout the event.
The Chief Minister reviewed key preparations for the Yatra, instructing officials to make special arrangements on high-traffic routes such as Muradnagar to Tila Mod, Kadrabad Border to Ghaziabad-Delhi Border, Delhi-Meerut Expressway, and NH-24 and NH-9.
Focus on Sanitation, Health, and Surveillance
CM Yogi also emphasized that Kanwar camps must have proper arrangements for clean drinking water, sanitation, toilets, medical aid, and fire safety. He directed that watchtowers, CCTV surveillance systems, public address systems, and barricading be set up to manage crowd movement and emergencies.
In addition, he ordered that:
Meat and liquor shops along the yatra routes remain closed during the pilgrimage.
Insulated plastic sheets (up to 5 feet) be placed on electric poles along the route for safety.
All food vendors must display rate charts for transparency and fairness.
Development Review in Parallel
Alongside the Kanwar Yatra preparations, the CM also assessed ongoing infrastructure and urban development projects in Ghaziabad. He encouraged all departments to coordinate efficiently, ensure timely completion of works, and maintain high standards of execution, especially in areas related to public welfare and transport.
The Chief Minister also stressed the importance of inter-departmental coordination during the Yatra period. He directed the Police, Municipal Corporation, Health Department, and Power Corporation to work in close synergy to ensure uninterrupted services and swift responses to any issues that may arise.
