Moradabad Police have intensified preparations for the upcoming Kanwar Yatra 2025, set to begin on July 11, ahead of the first Monday of Sawan on July 14. As thousands of kanwariyas are expected to pass through the city, the administration is taking multiple steps to ensure a smooth and safe pilgrimage.

According to SSP Satpal Antil, CCTV cameras are being installed along the Kanwar routes, and designated police duty points are being set up to manage crowds and traffic. To prevent congestion and accidents, movement of heavy vehicles like buses, dumpers, trucks, and tractors will be prohibited from 6 PM on July 11 along the Delhi Road and Kanth Road. Additionally, light four-wheelers such as cars and pickups will also be restricted from the morning of July 13.

Route Diversion Plan in Place

Kanwariyas carrying holy Ganga water from Haridwar and Brajghat pass through Moradabad en route to Rampur, Shahjahanpur, Bareilly, and Badaun. Given the large number of devotees, a route diversion plan has been put in place once again this year.

From Moradabad to Delhi/Merath: All vehicles will be diverted via Bilari, Sambhal, Babrala, Narora, Dibai, Bulandshahr, Sikandrabad to reach Meerut and Delhi.

From Rampur to Moradabad: Vehicles will travel through Shahbad and Bilari to reach the temporary bus stand at Azad Nagar and return via the same route.

Deployment and Inspections

SSP Antil has inspected the entire route and alerted all subordinate officers. Duty points have been clearly demarcated, and coordination efforts are being strengthened to prevent any disruption during the yatra. Special instructions have been issued to prioritize the safety and smooth movement of pilgrims.

Key Kanwar Mondays:

First Monday: July 14

Second Monday: July 21

Third Monday: July 28

Fourth Monday: August 4

Agwanpur Route to Be Illuminated with 150 Street Lights

In a move similar to Moradabad city, Agwanpur’s Kanwar route will now be illuminated with around 150 new street lights, making night-time travel safer for pilgrims and locals alike. Authorities are also working to repair potholes and improve lighting before the yatra officially begins.

SSP Antil reiterated:

“Although the first Monday is on July 14, traffic restrictions will begin from July 11 evening for heavy vehicles and from July 13 morning for light four-wheelers. We are fully prepared to ensure the Kanwar Yatra proceeds peacefully and safely.”

The efforts reflect a broader commitment from the Uttar Pradesh administration to make Kanwar Yatra 2025 secure and smooth for all participants.
