In a major urban expansion initiative, the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) is set to establish two large-scale townships—Udyog Nagar along the Agra Expressway and Naimish Nagar in Bakshi Ka Talab (BKT). The twin projects aim to provide residential facilities to over three lakh people while significantly boosting industrial, healthcare, educational, and logistics infrastructure in the capital.
LDA to Develop Naimish Nagar and Udyog Nagar Along Agra Expressway
The announcement came during a high-level meeting chaired by Dr. Balkar Singh, Secretary of the Housing and Urban Planning Department, where detailed presentations of both projects were showcased.
LDA Vice Chairman Prathamesh Kumar briefed that:
Udyog Nagar will be developed on 5610 acres near the Agra Expressway, with land identified across villages in the Sadar and Sarojini Nagar tehsils.
Naimish Nagar, meanwhile, is planned on 2504 acres near Sitapur Road and Raitha Road in the BKT tehsil, covering land parcels in several surrounding villages.
These projects are expected to transform the urban landscape of Lucknow by catering to both residential and commercial demand, and are projected to attract massive private investment into the state.
The planning session also saw participation from senior officials, including Chief Town and Country Planner Anil Kumar Mishra, Housing Bandhu Director Ravi Jain, LDA Additional Secretary Gyanendra Verma, Chief City Planner K.K. Gautam, Finance Controller Deepak Singh, and Joint Secretary Sushil Pratap Singh, among others.
As Uttar Pradesh continues to expand rapidly, such projects are seen as a step towards planned urban growth, especially in high-potential zones like the Agra Expressway corridor.
