According to official information shared by the state government, special facilities have been developed across the mela area to provide maximum convenience to pilgrims. A total of 12,100 feet of bathing ghats have been constructed, along with 42 designated parking areas, ensuring smooth crowd movement and better access to the riverbanks. Parking facilities have been developed close to the ghats to reduce walking distance for devotees.
To maintain cleanliness and hygiene during the religious gathering
To maintain cleanliness and hygiene during the religious gathering, the administration has deployed 3,300 sanitation workers and constructed 25,880 toilets across the mela premises. These measures aim to uphold the government’s commitment to making Magh Mela 2026 swachh, surakshit aur suvyavasthit (clean, safe, and well-managed).
For enhanced mobility, facilities such as golf cart services and Rapido bike services have also been introduced, especially to assist elderly devotees and those with mobility challenges. On the security front, elaborate arrangements have been put in place, including 17 police stations, 42 police outposts, 20 fire stations, and a dedicated water police station to ensure round-the-clock vigilance and emergency response.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Uttar Pradesh government has emphasized seamless coordination among departments to make the Magh Mela a spiritually fulfilling and safe experience for all pilgrims. The Magh Mela at Prayagraj continues to be one of the most significant religious congregations in the country, reflecting India’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage.
