Samajwadi Party supremo Akhilesh Yadav recently stirred a political storm by questioning the figures presented by the BJP government for Maha Kumbh 2025. Speaking at a press conference, he alleged that the data shared by the authorities was fabricated and exaggerated to mislead the public. However, Swami Chidanand Saraswati, the spiritual head of Parmarth Niketan Ashram, responded strongly, dismissing Yadav's claims and emphasising the significance of unity and spiritual strength over mere numbers.

Addressing a gathering, Akhilesh Yadav remarked, "The BJP government is presenting fake figures to create a larger-than-life image of Maha Kumbh 2025."

He further alleged, “Trains are running empty, and reports suggest low turnout in certain regions, including Gorakhpur.” Yadav's statement has ignited a debate over the credibility of the data released by the government for the grand event in Prayagraj.

Swami Chidanand Saraswati Responds to Akhilesh Yadav's Remark on Maha Kumbh 2025

On Akhilesh Yadav's allegations, spiritual leader Swami Chidanand Saraswati, head of the Parmarth Niketan Ashram, emphasised that the event's essence goes beyond numbers. Speaking to ANI, he remarked, “It’s not about figures; it’s about arrogance. Akhilesh Yadav is a good man, but sometimes the focus shifts unnecessarily.”

Swami Saraswati elaborated, saying, "The compulsion around votes shouldn’t overshadow the greater purpose. Strength doesn’t come from votes but from veto power, the ability to rise above and prioritise the nation's unity."

Maha Kumbh 2025: A Global Phenomenon

Despite political controversies, Maha Kumbh 2025 continues to attract global attention. Swami Chidanand Saraswati pointed out that the event is not just an Indian phenomenon. “Even in Pakistan, Maha Kumbh 2025 is being searched the most on Google,” he revealed, emphasising the global admiration for the festival’s grandeur and spiritual essence.

The Kumbh Mela, held at the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj, is the world’s largest congregation of humanity. With millions of pilgrims arriving from across the globe, the event showcases India’s rich cultural heritage and spiritual unity.
