During his address, CM Adityanath stated, "The opposition is not just making unfounded statements, but has taken a supari (contract) to tarnish the image of Sanatan Dharma." He condemned the remarks made by several leaders in relation to the unfortunate stampede, which occurred during the Mahakumbh Mela in Prayagraj earlier this year.

Opposition's Controversial Statements

Opposition parties had questioned the handling of the Mahakumbh, raising concerns over the lack of safety measures and the management of the large crowds. Some opposition leaders linked the stampede to alleged mismanagement by the state government and its failure to ensure the safety of pilgrims.

However, CM Adityanath rejected these claims, asserting that the state government had made every effort to ensure the smooth conduct of the event, one of the largest religious gatherings in the world. He also reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining the sanctity and security of the Mahakumbh and other religious events.

Government's Response to the Incident

The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister emphasized that comprehensive safety protocols were put in place for the Mahakumbh. Despite the unfortunate stampede, the government has worked tirelessly to address the issue and provide support to those affected. Several relief measures have been introduced, and investigations into the cause of the incident are ongoing.

Yogi Adityanath’s remarks reflect his strong stance against criticism from political opponents, particularly in relation to religious events like the Mahakumbh, which holds significant cultural and religious importance for millions of Hindus across the country.

Sanatan Dharma and National Unity

CM Adityanath concluded his address by calling for national unity and urged the people to remain united in the face of such provocations. He stressed that any attack on Sanatan Dharma would be met with a strong response, emphasizing the importance of respecting religious values and traditions in the country.
