Mathura News: In a remarkable case, the video of Mathura, where a self-proclaimed baba inside an ashram was indulging in making improper suggestions to a woman, has provoked a massive uproar on social media. It was originally published on X (previously Twitter) by journalist S. Gupta, and local officials and citizens distinguished it shortly.
The clip, which, according to the report, was filmed by the woman herself, captures the scene where the baba is trying to seduce her with obscene offers, offering to spend the night with him. In a perverse excuse, he cites Draupadi of the Mahabharata, who had five husbands, as he says, “She had five husbands, and you are already complaining after the second?” The lady rejects him, and the baba provides shelter to her and her family at the ashram.
Police Reaction and Public Response
The Mathura police released an official statement shortly after the video was published, confirming that the incident took place in a certain area of a police station used by them. According to them, the video is still under investigation, and they will take legal action against Baba and others found to be involved in the crime.
The police encouraged citizens not to disseminate the video even further, especially without confirming its origin or without making any kind of speculative comment, because it can negatively affect the process of the investigation or violate the privacy of the concerned woman.
A Wake-Up Call for Ashram Accountability?
This accident has brought up some grave issues about the exploitation of spiritual thoughts and the lack of control in ashrams. There are now calls by citizens/activists to intensify background investigations and monitoring of spiritual leaders who lead or manage community-based shelters or religious centres’ discotheques.
The video has revived a debate on the misuse of religious authority and the necessity to face such people with justice through the law.
Mathura Police is making all possible efforts to solve the case, and justice is a burning issue of the day for the common people. As soon as the investigation gains momentum, the case will be updated.
