BJP candidate Chandrabhanu Paswan, contesting from the Milkipur assembly constituency, offered prayers at a temple in Ayodhya as he maintained a lead over Samajwadi Party’s (SP) Ajith Prasad in the bypoll. The victory, if confirmed, will further strengthen the BJP’s political grip in Uttar Pradesh ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
BJP Calls Milkipur Win a Setback for SP
Reacting to the by-election trends, BJP MP Dinesh Sharma said the results mark a significant shift in Uttar Pradesh’s political landscape. He stated, "The positive results in Milkipur symbolise a breakdown of the Samajwadi Party's arrogance over the Lok Sabha elections. The SP should democratically accept the defeat with love."
The Milkipur bypoll was a crucial contest, with SP trying to regain lost ground in Ayodhya, a politically sensitive region. However, with Paswan leading, the BJP appears to have further cemented its position in the constituency.
Dinesh Sharma Takes a Dig at AAP After Delhi Election Results
Commenting on the Delhi Assembly by-elections 2025, Dinesh Sharma launched a scathing attack on AAP and its leader Arvind Kejriwal. Referring to the cleaning of the Yamuna river, he sarcastically remarked, "When the Yamuna river gets cleaned under the leadership of the BJP government in Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal will finally get an opportunity to take a dip, which he could not during his tenure."
He further claimed that the Delhi elections were not just about the capital but signified a larger shift in national politics. Taking a swipe at the Opposition, Sharma said, "Now the Opposition will cry that EVMs were rigged or will run to form another alliance."
As election results unfold, the BJP’s strong performance in both Milkipur and Delhi signals its continued political dominance ahead of the crucial 2025 and 2026 elections.
