A case of burning a pregnant girl alive by pouring petrol has come to light in Mainpuri, UP. The girl’s condition is critical. Initially she has been admitted to the district hospital, then to the medical college of Saifai. The victim girl was raped. In this case the panchayat was also sitting in the village. On the day of the incident, the accused’s mother had taken the girl with her on the pretext of marriage.
The incident is of police station Kuravali area. According to the information, on October 6, the mother of the accused reached the house of the victim living in the village and took the girl home with her on the pretext of marrying her accused son. The same night the accused and his family burnt the girl alive. Police have registered a case against 3 including the main accused Abhishek in the case.
The victim’s mother alleges that the accused Abhishek, who lives in the neighborhood, had raped the daughter three months ago. The girl was alone in the house at the time of the incident, when the accused entered inside and threatened the incident. Due to fear, the girl did not even inform the family members about the incident. But one day when the daughter had a stomach ache, the mother took her to the doctor. There it came to know that the girl is pregnant.
When the mother counseled the daughter, she told the whole thing. When the girl’s mother talked about taking action, some people of the village came forward and got the panchayat done. In the panchayat, the family members of the accused had agreed to make the girl the daughter-in-law of their house. The mother of the accused took the girl with her on October 6 and on the same night with the help of the family members set the girl on fire, causing severe burns.
The victim girl was immediately taken to Mainpuri District Hospital. Seeing the serious condition there, she was admitted to the hospital in Saifai. On the basis of the complaint of the girl’s mother, the police have registered a case against the accused and his family under sections 307, 376 and POSCO Act. Police say that raids are being conducted in search of the accused.
