According to a recent bid notice issued by the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC), the corporation has invited bids for the execution of balance finishing, interior works, Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP), and signalling tasks at the upcoming Jangpura Station.

The Jangpura Station is one of the key terminals of the Delhi–Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS), also known as the Namo Bharat Train. Once completed, it will enhance connectivity between Delhi and Meerut, significantly cutting travel time between the two cities to less than an hour.

Officials stated that the final stage of work is progressing rapidly, with an emphasis on passenger facilities, safety systems, and modern design. The NCRTC aims to open the Jangpura section soon after all trials and inspections are completed.
The project is expected to bring major relief to daily commuters, reduce road congestion, and contribute to a cleaner mode of transport under the government’s green mobility initiative.
The RRTS corridor is being seen as a game-changer for the National Capital Region (NCR), linking major urban centres and promoting regional economic growth. Once operational, the corridor is expected to witness a daily ridership of several lakh passengers, boosting employment opportunities and regional trade.
