The travel experience between Greater Noida and Jewar Airport is set to become much smoother. The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has announced plans for a 25-kilometre-long and 130-metre-wide road connecting Gaur Chowk in Greater Noida West directly to the upcoming Noida International Airport.

New Road Route

The new road will begin from Gaur Chowk, passing through Sirsa, Alawda, and future sectors 16, 13, 12, 11, 10, 9, 7, and 8, before reaching the airport. It will also improve connectivity to the cargo and aviation hub zones of the airport.

Alternate Corridor to Ease Traffic

This corridor will run parallel to the Yamuna Expressway, but on the opposite side of the airport terminal zone. The new link aims to reduce traffic load on the existing expressway while offering a more efficient travel option for commuters.

Integration with Eastern Peripheral Expressway

As per reports, the 30 km-long link road from Gaur Chowk to Sirsa will connect through a 3 km stretch near Alawda, linking it to the Eastern Peripheral Expressway (EPE). Proposals have been made for a cloverleaf interchange or underpass at the EPE junction to ensure smooth vehicular movement.

Six-Lane Corridor Construction

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) will construct this six-lane corridor, which is expected to cost around ₹1,400 crore, with an additional ₹300 crore estimated for road construction. The project will require around 812 acres of land.

Land Acquisition Process

In the first phase, a 5-km stretch connecting Greater Noida to the airport’s cargo area will be built, covering 162 acres of land at an expected cost of ₹280 crore. The land acquisition process is currently underway, and construction will proceed in phases as land becomes available.

Areas to Benefit

Once completed, the project will significantly benefit travellers from Noida, Greater Noida, Greater Noida West, and Ghaziabad. It will not only enhance airport accessibility but also accelerate development in Yamuna City and neighbouring regions.
