Noida Authority’s Ambitious Road Remodeling and Beautification Project Takes Shape

In an effort to enhance urban infrastructure, the Noida Authority has initiated a comprehensive road remodeling and beautification project. The civil and electrical departments of the authority have conducted a survey of a crucial 2.5 km road connecting Sector 14A/15A with the Sector 11 T-point. The survey aims to identify areas for improvement, including the development of proper footpaths, green spaces, central verges, and the beautification of available spaces along the road.

The authority has specifically instructed the electrical department to lay electricity cables underground and enhance all open spaces along the road. Once the successful implementation of cable laying work on Udyog Marg is achieved, similar initiatives will be extended to other densely populated areas. According to Lokesh M, the Chief Executive Officer of the Noida Authority, this is a step towards creating aesthetically pleasing and functional urban spaces.

Under the road remodeling and beautification drive, the Noida Authority plans to eliminate all forms of illegal parking, develop dedicated walkways for pedestrians, remove overhead cables and transformers by placing them underground, and install designer lights along the central verge. The absence of proper dividers on the road has been contributing to traffic congestion, and the remodeling project aims to address this issue.

Satish Pal, the Additional Executive Officer of the Noida Authority, expressed confidence that the redeveloped road would not only ease vehicular traffic but also provide a smoother experience for pedestrians. Once the success of this model is established, similar projects will be undertaken on other roads to enhance the overall commuting experience.

The decision to remodel and beautify the road comes in response to daily traffic congestion and deteriorating conditions during rush hours, compounded by the issue of illegal parking. The entire road beautification project is slated for completion within 18 months from the commencement of work.
