In a major development, farmers from 55 villages in Bulandshahr are set to benefit significantly as their agricultural land is being acquired for new urban development projects near the Noida International Airport.
Bulandshahr’s 55 Villages Set for Transformation
According to information from the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), preparations are underway to purchase agricultural land in these villages to pave the way for upcoming infrastructure, including two new expressways and a railway link adjacent to the airport.
The acquired land will be used to develop two new expressways and a railway link, aimed at improving connectivity and easing pressure on existing road networks. These projects are part of the broader plan to convert the Noida airport region into a multi-modal transport and economic hub, attracting industries, logistics parks, and smart residential townships.
Farmers to Become Crorepatis as Land Acquisition Begins Near Noida Airport
As reported by Hindustan Times, YEIDA CEO Arun Vir Singh has finalized the land acquisition rates and confirmed that the process is now ready to move forward. “We will present the committee’s recommendations before the board to ensure farmers receive fair compensation,” he said.
The land rates have been determined based on the prevailing prices in nearby Gautam Buddh Nagar. Authorities have decided to offer farmers from the selected villages better rates to ensure equitable development.
The land acquisition committee, chaired by Special Officer Bhatia, has offered two compensation models:
Farmers opting for residential plots equivalent to 7% of their acquired land will receive it at ₹3,800 per square meter.
Those preferring direct monetary compensation will be paid at ₹4,300 per square meter.
Once the board gives its final approval, the land acquisition process will begin in full swing, potentially turning hundreds of farmers into crorepatis and setting the stage for a new era of urban growth in Bulandshahr.
