In a major boost for commuters and businesses, the Greater Noida Authority has fast-tracked plans to connect its existing 130-metre-wide road network with the Yamuna Authority’s 120-metre-wide highway, significantly improving access to the upcoming Noida International Airport in Jewar. This initiative will benefit residents of Greater Noida West, Noida, Ghaziabad and beyond.
On-Site Inspection and Directives
On Monday, Additional CEO Sumit Yadav, along with senior managers Narottam Singh, Prabhat Shankar and Abhishek Pal, conducted a detailed on-site survey of the proposed alignment. He instructed the project consultant to finalize the design immediately and commence construction without delay, underscoring the administration’s commitment to seamless airport connectivity.
New 3-Kilometre Connectivity Corridor
The heart of the project is a 3-kilometre corridor that will extend the existing four-lane, 130-metre-wide road from Char Murti Chowk to Sirsa, where it will merge with the 120-metre Yamuna Authority highway. This direct link is expected to:
Reduce travel time to Jewar Airport via the Yamuna Expressway
Alleviate congestion on local roads by providing an alternative route
Improve logistics and workforce mobility for industrial sectors Ecotech-9, 10 and 11
Additionally, plans include constructing an underpass near Sirsa to cross the Eastern Peripheral Expressway and a modern rotary at Ghanghola to streamline traffic flow into adjacent industrial areas.
Wider Benefits and Regional Impact
Beyond airport access, the corridor will offer a faster route to Bulandshahr and serve as a vital feeder road for freight and passenger traffic. By enhancing connectivity, the project is poised to:
Stimulate industrial growth through improved haulage routes
Ease daily commutes for thousands of workers and residents
Promote regional integration across western Uttar Pradesh
The Greater Noida Authority’s proactive approach in expediting this infrastructure works toward ensuring that the new airport not only serves as an aviation hub but also catalyzes broader economic development in the region.
