The much-awaited Noida International Airport, located in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh, is finally set to take off, with international operations scheduled to begin in November 2025. Touted as Asia’s largest international airport, this mega infrastructure project is nearing completion after several delays and missed deadlines since its initial launch target of 2024.
According to official sources, domestic and cargo flight operations are expected to start as early as mid-September 2025, making it one of the most significant aviation developments in the region. With more than 80% of total construction completed, authorities say the project has now entered its final phase.
Rapid Progress in Final Phase
The airport’s runway and airside infrastructure have achieved over 90% completion, while construction of the terminal building is also progressing at an accelerated pace. The airport is designed to handle millions of passengers annually and aims to decongest Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport while boosting regional connectivity across north India.
Once fully operational, Noida International Airport is expected to transform Jewar and the surrounding NCR region into a major economic and logistics hub, generating thousands of jobs and attracting significant domestic and international investment.
Officials say trials and safety checks will be carried out in phases over the next few months to ensure a seamless start of operations, in line with global aviation standards.
