The elevated expressway will improve access to the Noida International Airport. The project will reduce congestion and ease pollution. The construction was approved during a board meeting on March 28, 2025.

Route and length of six-lane elevated expressway

It will connect Okhla Barrage near Kalindi Kunj to the Yamuna Expressway via the Hindon-Yamuna doab. Key interchanges are at Sector 168 (connecting to the FNG Expressway) and Sector 150 (connecting to nearby roads) as per plan. Total length of expressway will be 37.2 kilometres consisting 26.5 km elevated and the remaining 10.7 km at ground level.

Need of six-lane elevated expressway

Due to many residential, commercial and institutional buildings and various industrial activities near the approved expressway there is possibility of huge traffic in future. This traffic will increase more after the opening of international airport in Noida. To avoid possible traffic jams and making travel easier between Noida and Greater Noida, this six-lane elevated expressway is to build.

Before and after the construction of six-lane elevated expressway

Before construction begins and road design is finalised, the Noida authority needs to do traffic surveys and do feasibility analysis. After these surveys and feasibility study is done, a report will be prepared on the base of which future activities will be done.

The Noida Authority wants to involve the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) in the construction of the six-lane elevated expressway. It will help to receive funding and resources from government.

Once the expressway is ready, it will help in reducing congestion, improving connectivity, and supporting future developments in the area, specifically near Jewar Airport. This six-lane elevated expressway will also help in protecting environment as it will reduce travel time and fuel consumption.
