Noida News: Residents of government and defence residential colonies in Gautam Budh Nagar have received a major relief on new piped natural gas (PNG) connections. Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) has announced a 100% waiver on the ₹6,000 meter security deposit for eligible new PNG connections.

The limited-period offer will remain available until September 17, 2026, subject to the concerned government organisation completing the required formalities with IGL.
Who Can Avail the PNG Connection Waiver?
The scheme covers residential colonies and employee quarters associated with:
- Central government departments and offices
- Uttar Pradesh government departments and establishments
- Defence and paramilitary organisations
- Servant quarters attached to eligible government accommodation
The initiative is aimed at encouraging greater use of PNG in government residential accommodation and supporting the expansion of PNG infrastructure in eligible colonies.
₹6,000 PNG Meter Deposit Waived
Under the promotional scheme, IGL will completely waive the ₹6,000 meter security deposit normally applicable to each new PNG connection.
The benefit is available for eligible colonies where PNG infrastructure needs to be developed or expanded. However, the concerned organisation must complete the necessary coordination and memorandum of understanding (MoU) formalities with IGL within the offer period.
Gautam Budh Nagar Administration Seeks Details
Gautam Budh Nagar District Magistrate Medha Roopam has directed government departments and organisations to identify residential colonies and employee quarters where PNG infrastructure needs to be developed or expanded.
