The local court has sentenced 12 convicts, including MLA of Muzaffarnagar Assembly of Uttar Pradesh, Vikram Saini, to two years. He has also been fined Rs 10,000 each. The court has given this verdict in the Muzaffarnagar riots case in 2013. MP MLA Court Gopal Upadhyay has sentenced all the accused to 2 years imprisonment. It is to be known that 28 people were named in the case registered at police station Jansath on August 29, 2013. All the accused were booked under sections 147, 148, 149, 353 and 336 of IPC.
In this, 12 people including MLA Vikram Singh Saini were arrested by the police from the spot. While the other 15 people were arrested after the case was registered. The matter was pending in the court since 2013. Many years ago the case was sent from the Sessions Court to the MP MLA Court. Sessions Court MP MLA Gopal Upadhyay acquitted 15 accused in the case while hearing the case.
It includes Shahnawaz, Babar, Abrar, Imran, Usman, Rakesh, Manoj, Haji Anees, Sajeb, Mukarram Zafar, Rafiq, Akshay, Gulshan, Faisal and Dheeraj. One of the accused, Satish, has died in this. Those who have been sentenced by the court, BJP MLAs from Khatauli, Vikram Saini, Mukarram, Noor, Farooq, Dharamveer, Deepak, Sonu, Rohtas, Deepak, Salek Chand, Ravinder Pradeep are sentenced to 2 years imprisonment. The MP MLA Court has sentenced each convict to a fine of Rs 10 thousand. However, there is a possibility that the MLA and other accused will challenge this decision in the upper court.
