PM Modi to Inaugurate Noida International Airport on October 30

Once fully operational, the Jewar-based airport will become India’s largest airport, offering world-class facilities and easing pressure on Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the much-awaited Noida International Airport on October 30, marking a historic moment for Uttar Pradesh’s aviation sector. Once fully operational, the Jewar-based airport will become India’s largest airport, offering world-class facilities and easing pressure on Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport.

State-of-the-Art Facilities

The airport, whose construction began in 2019, is being developed in four phases. Phase 1 is nearly complete and will feature:

  • One runway and one passenger terminal with a handling capacity of 12 million passengers annually.
  • Three temporary aerobridges, deployable as per requirement.
  • Advanced ATRS baggage screening machines for faster, more accurate security checks.
  • Strong focus on green infrastructure, including solar power and sustainable operations.

Boost for Uttar Pradesh and Beyond

The airport is set to transform Jewar and Western UP into a global aviation and logistics hub. Developed under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model between the Uttar Pradesh government and Zurich Airport’s subsidiary, it will complement Delhi’s existing airport and significantly improve connectivity for passengers and cargo.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has termed the project a game-changer for the state, bringing in investments, employment, and global recognition.

With the inauguration around the corner, people of Uttar Pradesh are set to witness the rise of a new gateway to the world.
