According to Basic Education Officer Shubham Shukla, the private school in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, where a teacher had told her students to strike a pupil one by one, made fun of his Muslim faith, and spoke disparagingly of "Mohammedan children" has been temporarily closed.

He explained that the Neha Public School did not match the department's requirements and that letters had been made to senior officials to have the school's recognition from the UP education board withdrawn. “All the 50 students will be shifted to the government school or other schools in the district within a week,” an officer informed.

The only private school in the incident's location, Khubbapur village, is Neha Public School. Tripta Tyagi, the owner of the school, is accused of making racial slurs and instructing the students to attack a classmate, reportedly because the student had his multiplication tables incorrect.

Video went viral

On the internet video that has gone viral, Tyagi is heard telling kids to slap the crying boy. “Maine toh declare kar diya, jitne bhi Mohammedan bachche hain, inke wahan chale jao (I have declared – all these Muslim children, go to anyone’s area)…” She then trails off as the man appears to agree,” she is heard saying in the video.

Based on the boy's statement and his father's complaint, a FIR was filed against Tyagi under IPC sections 323 (causing hurt) and 504 (intentionally insulting someone with the purpose to cause a breach of peace).

The school acquired affiliation in 2019 and is listed with the UP state board. Since the school is now undergoing construction, Tripta had been instructing the pupils at her residence, which is also where the event occurred.
