Raja Raghuwanshi Murder: 'Poor Planner' Sonam Raghuwanshi's Claim Of Innocence Falls Flat, UP Police Expose The Conspiracy

The murder of Indore businessman Raja Raghuwanshi has taken a dramatic turn, with his wife Sonam claiming innocence while police suspect a love affair as the motive. Three accused have been handed over to Meghalaya Police as the investigation deepens.

The murder case of Indore businessman Raja Raghuwanshi is getting darker with every new update. On Monday, Indore Police handed over three accused (Raj Kushwaha, Vishal Chauhan, and Akash Rajput) to Meghalaya Police on a 7-day transit remand. They will be taken to Shillong on Tuesday for further investigation.

At the same time, Raja’s wife, Sonam Raghuwanshi, was produced in court in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh. The couple had gone to Meghalaya for their honeymoon after getting married on May 11. But by May 23, they had both gone missing. Raja’s body was later found in a gorge near Weisawdong Falls on June 2. Sonam, however, reappeared mysteriously days later under odd circumstances.

UP Police Exposes Wife Of Raja Raghuwanshi In His Murders Case

Sonam is claiming she’s not involved in the murder. She told workers at a one-stop centre in Ghazipur that she had been kidnapped. A staffer told Hindustan Times, “She did not kill anyone,” quoting what Sonam said after waking up.

However, UP Police aren’t convinced. Additional DGP Amitabh Yash told NDTV, “Sonam presented herself as a victim before the police and claimed that she was drugged and brought to Ghazipur.”

He called her a “poor planner” who didn’t understand how police investigations work. According to police, she contacted her family around 3 am and told them she was at a roadside eatery. Her family informed police, which led to her arrest.

She was taken for a medical test and then kept in custody. Police say she faked her story to buy time and avoid suspicion.

Sonam Raghuwanshi Had An Alleged Love Affair With One Of The Accused

Investigators believe a romantic relationship is at the heart of the plot. Raj Kushwaha, Sonam’s alleged boyfriend, is said to have helped plan the murder. He was even seen driving one of the cars arranged by Sonam’s family for Raja’s funeral, according to one guest.

Police think Sonam may have only come forward once she knew Raj was in custody. They believe she planned Raja’s murder with the help of Raj and others shortly after their wedding. The quick disappearance during the honeymoon and the delayed reappearance added to the suspicion.
