The Uttar Pradesh Police and the Special Investigation Team (SIT) have broadened their investigation into the alleged misconduct with donations made at the Ram Mandir temple. Interrogations of former Trust General Secretary Champat Rai, former Trustee Anil Mishra, and other officials have taken place regarding collection, counting, safekeeping, and deposits in banks of donations collected from the devotees.

Officials are scrutinizing documents, bank records, and cash-handling procedures to determine how donations were managed. Champat Rai Responds
Following his questioning, Champat Rai reportedly denied any involvement in the alleged donation theft. He stated that he had acted after receiving complaints regarding irregularities and cooperated fully with investigators by answering questions related to the donation management process.
Resignations Amid the Controversy
Earlier, Champat Rai and Anil Mishra stepped down from their respective positions in the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, stating that the resignations were intended to ensure a fair and transparent investigation. The Trust has maintained that devotees’ donations remain secure and has pledged full cooperation with the ongoing probe.
