Under the Jal Jeevan Mission, Shahjahanpur of UP has created history in providing tap connections to every household in rural areas. Shahjahanpur has become number one in the country in providing maximum tap connections in a month. According to the data given on the website of Jal Jeevan Mission, Bulandshahr, Bareilly, Mirzapur have also got a place in this survey. This success is being considered as a big leap of the Yogi government in the matter of rural drinking water supply. Shahjahanpur, Bulandshahr, Bareilly, Mirzapur districts should be on top in providing employment to the youth along with providing tap connections to the rural people. Various parameters like water quality, training of water testing to women have also come true.
In this survey, districts are selected across the country on the basis of the marks obtained on the basis of the progress of the scheme.
The names of Shahjahanpur, Bulandshahr and Bareilly have been registered in the best performing districts of UP in the month of October.
In the ranking of districts, Shahjahanpur has secured the first place in the best performing category by getting total marks of 6 lakh 89 thousand 990. Bulandshahr is at the second place by getting 6 lakh 57 thousand 180 points and Bareilly is at the third place by getting 6 lakh 19 thousand 114 points. Shahjahanpur of UP is at the first place, Mirzapur at the second and Bulandshahr at the third place among the fastest growing districts in the month of October.
Result of administrative tightening
The Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh is taking Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ambitious plan forward very fast. Till the month of December, the work of providing more than 90 percent tap connections in Bundelkhand is being done on a war footing. The officers of the department are working with full force to fulfill the target in other districts of the state. This can be gauged from the fact that on the instructions of the Chief Minister, departmental ministers, principal secretaries and all officers and employees are on the field.
Districts are selected in five categories
In Jal Jeevan Survekshan-2023, districts across the country are selected in 5 categories. In four categories, the districts providing 100 percent tap connections in a month in front runner, the districts providing 75 to 100 percent tap connections in the category of high achievers and achievers, the districts providing 50 to 75 percent tap connections in the category of performers. In the category and districts giving 0 to 25 percent tap connectionsare included in the aspirant category.
Shahjahanpur made the first position in the aspirant category by giving 28 thousand 419 tap connections in the month of October alone. Working fast in the month of October in Shahjahanpur, work was done to provide 7 percent tap connections under the Jal Jeevan Mission. With 10.59 percent tap connections, this figure reached 17.35. According to the website, till October 1, 44 thousand 557 families were given tap connections. While till October 31, the figure of providing tap connections has reached 72 thousand 976.
Bulandshahr has provided 21 thousand 260 tap connections to every household in the month of October. Till October 1, the number of tap connections was 97 thousand 129, which reached 1 lakh 18 thousand 389 till October 31. Bulandshahr has made a place in the aspirant category as the second state to give 6 percent FHTC in a month. In one month, 119 women were trained in water testing in Bulandshahr.
Bareilly district made third place in the aspirant category by giving tap connections to 22 thousand 222 families in the month of October. Till October 1, 59 thousand 834 connections were given in Bareilly. By October 31, this figure reached 82 thousand 56. In Bareilly, 448 women were trained for water testing in a month.
Shahjahanpur district has achieved this success by fulfilling the criteria of the aspirational category of providing tap water to every household, due to which it has got full marks in the survey. In the efforts being made for the purity of water in the district, Shahjahanpur remained ahead of all districts in testing water and providing training (FTK) to the maximum number of women. In Shahjahanpur district, 933 women were trained for FTK training in the month of October alone.
