Sharda University: BDS Student's Diary Sent For Investigation, Father Alleges Mental Harassment and Torture

Jyoti was a third-year student at Sharda University in Greater Noida. On July 17, her body was found in her dorm room.

A diary was found after a tragic death. According to TV9 Bharatvarsh

 The shocking event sent shockwaves through the campus, and things quickly got heated when cops found her personal diary, which was full of emotional entries that showed she was in a lot of mental pain.

The BDS student's diary was sent to be investigated because the father says the faculty harassed and tortured him mentally.

At first, the lack of a suicide letter raised a lot of questions. But Jyoti's notebook showed that she thought some of her teachers were torturing her mentally and treating her unfairly. Her father added to this by saying she had often complained about being scolded in front of her friends and getting bad grades for no reason.

Father Asks for Justice

After the event, her father came from Jharkhand and made a strong accusation against the university for failing to defend his daughter. "The teachers were making her feel bad." "She was broken on the inside," he told the press. He called for strict action and an open probe into what happened.

Under IPC 306, the police start an investigation

The police have opened a case under Section 306 of the Indian Penal Code, which is about attempting to commit suicide, and are now questioning faculty members who were named in Jyoti's diary. The police have taken her cell phone and other items to look at them for evidence.

The university is getting flak

The university sent out a short word of sympathy but didn't say anything about the accusations. At the same time, student groups have started to expect accountability. Many of them want changes to be made to mental health systems and to make them better at helping students.

Jyoti's sad death once again brings attention to the huge stress that college students are under. As the investigation goes on, her family and friends are hoping that justice will be done and that people will learn from this tragedy so that it doesn't happen again.
