Train Timings Change from August 27: Vande Bharat Extended to Varanasi via Ayodhya, Two Trains Through Meerut Affected

The Indian Railways has announced changes in the schedules of several trains passing through Meerut, starting August 27, 2025. This update follows the extension of the Vande Bharat Express, which currently runs up to Lucknow, but will now operate further till Varanasi via Ayodhya.

As a result, the timings of seven trains have been altered, including two key trains passing through Meerut. The Vande Bharat Express will now also have a scheduled stop at Hapur, while changes have been made to the timing of the Nauchandi Express and Khurja Passenger trains as well.

Vande Bharat to Start Operations from Meerut to Varanasi

Starting August 27, the Vande Bharat Express will run from Meerut to Varanasi via Ayodhya. It will halt at Hapur for two minutes in both directions:

Arrival at Hapur (from Meerut side): 7:08 AM

Arrival at Hapur (from Lucknow side): 8:58 PM

This expansion is aimed at improving connectivity across eastern Uttar Pradesh and the NCR region.

Changes to Nauchandi Express (Train No. 14242)

The Saharanpur–Prayagraj Nauchandi Express, which passes through Meerut City, will see revised timings between Hapur and Amroha stations from August 27.

Hapur: New departure at 9:02 PM (earlier 8:50 PM)

Garmukteshwar: New departure at 9:28 PM

Gajraula: 9:52 PM

Amroha: New arrival at 10:16 PM

The train’s 10-minute stoppage time at key stations will remain unchanged.

Khurja Passenger to Arrive One Hour Late

Train No. 54405 Khurja Passenger, which runs between Khurja and Meerut City, will also have its timetable adjusted.

Starting August 27, the train will arrive one hour later, reaching Meerut City at 10:00 PM instead of the current schedule.

Railway officials have advised regular passengers to check the updated train timings ahead of travel, especially those commuting on daily routes between Meerut, Hapur, and eastern UP. These changes aim to improve rail operations and accommodate the new extended services of Vande Bharat.
