The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by CM Yogi Adityanath, has approved the allotment of land for multiple Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) health projects aimed at strengthening healthcare infrastructure across the state.

As part of the decision, 13 acres of land in Varanasi will be allotted free of cost for the construction of the teaching faculty of an ESIC Medical College. The project is expected to enhance medical education facilities while improving access to specialized healthcare services in the region.
In Gorakhpur, the Cabinet has approved the allotment of 5.249 acres of land for the establishment of a 100-bed ESIC hospital. The proposed hospital is expected to provide quality healthcare services to insured workers and their families, while also reducing the burden on existing government healthcare facilities.

Similarly, 2.025 hectares of land have been allotted free of cost in Moradabad for the construction of another 100-bed ESIC hospital. The facility is expected to improve access to medical care for industrial workers and beneficiaries covered under the ESIC scheme.

The proposed ESIC institutions are expected to strengthen the public health system, generate employment opportunities and ensure better healthcare access for workers and their dependents.
