CM Yogi Adityanath: Government schools in Uttar Pradesh are introducing Bagless Saturdays for students in Classes 6 to 8, with the initiative designed to take learning beyond traditional classroom teaching.
UP CM Yogi Adityanath Government Schools Introduce Bagless Saturdays
According to the Information and Public Relations Department, UP, students will have 10 Bagless Saturdays focused on creativity, practical skills, sports and hands-on learning instead of carrying their regular school bags.
Bagless Saturdays to Promote Experiential Learning
The programme will include activities covering science, technology, art, culture and the environment, along with sports, clubs and other experiential learning opportunities.
Students will also be exposed to emerging areas such as coding, robotics, artificial intelligence and entrepreneurship, helping them develop practical and creative skills alongside their academic studies.
Educational visits and activity-based learning will form another part of the initiative, giving students opportunities to connect classroom concepts with real-world experiences.
The Uttar Pradesh government said the Bagless Saturday programme aims to encourage joyful and experiential learning, allowing children to explore their interests and develop skills beyond conventional textbooks and classroom instruction.
The initiative is being implemented in government schools as part of efforts to create a more engaging learning environment for students across Uttar Pradesh.
