In a proud moment for Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath welcomed the FIH Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup Trophy in Lucknow on Wednesday, ahead of the tournament scheduled to be held in Tamil Nadu later this year.

Calling it a memorable and golden moment in the state’s sports history, the Chief Minister said the arrival of the trophy in Uttar Pradesh serves as a reminder of the state’s glorious contribution to Indian hockey. He added that Uttar Pradesh has produced several exceptional players who have brought honour and recognition to the nation on international platforms.
“The arrival of this trophy evokes the golden memories of our sports legacy. The contribution of Uttar Pradesh to Indian hockey is unforgettable,” CM Yogi Adityanath said at the event.
Event Marks Statewide Celebration of Sports
The trophy was welcomed at a special ceremony organized in Lucknow as part of its nationwide tour before the championship. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from players, sports enthusiasts, and school students, showcasing Uttar Pradesh’s growing sports culture.
The Chief Minister reiterated his government’s commitment to promoting sports infrastructure and nurturing young talent in the state. He mentioned that several new stadiums and sports academies have been developed across districts to encourage youth participation.
