CM Yogi Adityanath emphasised that all Geographical Indication (GI)-tagged products of the state, along with One District One Product (ODOP) items, must be prominently showcased during the UP Diwas events. Calling ODOP a key identity of Uttar Pradesh, he said that this year there should be a special focus on “One District, One Cuisine” to highlight the state’s rich culinary heritage.

The chief minister also directed that cultural and theatrical programmes linked to national icons such as Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Birsa Munda, and literary works like Vande Mataram and Anand Math should be included to strengthen the cultural narrative of the celebrations.

Highlighting the importance of a series of national observances, CM Yogi said that National Youth Day (January 12), Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Jayanti (January 23), Uttar Pradesh Day (January 24), National Tourism Day and Voters’ Awareness Day (January 25), and Republic Day (January 26) should all be organised with grandeur and coordinated planning.

He further directed that reputed cultural institutions such as Bhatkhande Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya, Sangeet Natak Akademi, and Lalit Kala Akademi be actively associated with UP Diwas 2026 to enhance the scale, artistic quality, and appeal of the celebrations.

Additionally, CM Yogi Adityanath instructed Civil Defence units to conduct mock drills in every district on January 23, marking the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, reinforcing preparedness and public awareness.

The directives underline the government’s focus on positioning UP Diwas 2026 as a global platform to showcase Uttar Pradesh’s culture, heritage, products, and growing identity on the national and international stage.
