In a major push towards youth empowerment and self-reliance, the Uttar Pradesh government’s Chief Minister Yuva Udyami Yojana is proving to be a game-changer for aspiring entrepreneurs. The scheme, which offers interest-free loans of up to ₹5 lakh, is gaining rapid popularity across the state as thousands of young individuals take their first steps toward launching independent businesses.

1 Lakh Youth Targeted Annually

Under the initiative, the Yogi Adityanath-led government aims to provide loans to 1 lakh youth every year, helping them become self-employed and financially stable. The scheme is particularly focused on promoting grassroots entrepreneurship, especially in rural and semi-urban regions of Uttar Pradesh.

Maharajganj Sets the Benchmark

Leading the way is Maharajganj district, which has emerged as the top performer under the CM Yuva Udyami Yojana. Against a target of 1,000 projects, banks in the district approved 1,028 projects, achieving an impressive 102.80% approval rate. Furthermore, 911 of these projects have already received funding, pushing the disbursement rate to over 91%.

Officials credit this achievement to the proactive approach taken by local administration and enthusiastic participation by the district’s youth. The success also reflects the district’s alignment with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s vision of creating an "Atmanirbhar Uttar Pradesh."

Other High-Performing Districts

Apart from Maharajganj, the top five districts benefiting from the scheme include Ambedkar Nagar, Shravasti, Kannauj, and Rampur. Other districts ranking in the top 20 include Lalitpur, Bhadohi/Sant Ravidas Nagar, Rae Bareli, Bahraich, Farrukhabad, Siddharthnagar, Jaunpur, Amethi, Hardoi, Etawah, Pratapgarh, Balrampur, Fatehpur, Auraiya, and Chitrakoot.

With thousands of micro and small-scale businesses taking shape under the scheme, the Yogi government’s initiative is not only curbing unemployment but also boosting local economies and rural development.

The overwhelming response highlights the scheme’s success and its potential to shape a new generation of self-sufficient, entrepreneurial youth across Uttar Pradesh.
