In a major infrastructure push, the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet has approved the 49-kilometre-long, 6-lane Lucknow Link Expressway, a ₹4,776 crore greenfield project that will connect two of the state's key high-speed corridors — the Agra-Lucknow Expressway and the Purvanchal Expressway — via Mohan and Mohanlalganj.
The upcoming expressway aims to significantly improve connectivity and reduce travel time across central and eastern Uttar Pradesh. Once completed, it will provide a seamless link between western and eastern regions of the state through Lucknow, enhancing accessibility and boosting regional trade and mobility.

Part of UP’s 2030 Expressway Vision
The Lucknow Link Expressway is part of the state government’s broader plan to add 866 kilometers of expressways by 2030, strengthening Uttar Pradesh’s position as India’s expressway capital. The expressway will play a pivotal role in reducing congestion within Lucknow city while accelerating industrial and urban development in surrounding areas.
The government envisions Lucknow emerging as a central hub in the expressway ecosystem, acting as a vital junction between multiple economic corridors.
