Deoband Student Arrested for Pulwama Threat: ATS Investigates Alarming Social Media Post

A Muslim student from Darul Uloom Deoband in Uttar Pradesh, identified as Mohammad Talha Mazhar, issued a chilling threat of another Pulwama attack on social media. The alarming post, recalling the 2019 Pulwama tragedy where 40 soldiers lost their lives, has led to the immediate arrest of the student by the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS).

Incident Unfolds

On the night of December 26, Mohammad Talha Mazhar took to social media, stating, “Insha Allah, there will be another Pulwama attack soon.” The swift response from ATS resulted in his prompt arrest.

ATS Interrogation

The ATS is currently interrogating Talha Mazhar to ascertain any potential association with terrorist organizations. While Deoband Police Station acknowledges the ongoing interrogation, they clarify that the student has not been formally arrested yet.

Seizure of Mobile Phone

ATS has confiscated Mazhar’s mobile phone, subjecting it to thorough scrutiny for any indications of terror links. Additionally, there are reports of other hostel mates of Talha Mazhar being detained by the police.

Case Registration

A case has been registered against Talha Mazhar for issuing threats of another Pulwama attack on social media, marking a serious offense.
