UP News: On the occasion of Teacher’s Day, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced a major welfare initiative for the state’s teachers. Now, all teachers in UP—including those in primary, upper-primary, secondary, aided schools, colleges, Shiksha Mitras, instructors, and cooks—will be eligible for cashless medical treatment.

Describing the move as “historic,” CM Yogi highlighted that approximately nine lakh teacher families will directly benefit from this facility. This step will ease the financial burden on educators during illness or medical emergencies, reinforcing the government’s commitment to their well-being.

During the event held at Lok Bhavan Auditorium, CM Yogi also inaugurated smart classrooms, distributed tablets, and emphasized that the government will fully support teachers as they continue their role in shaping young minds. The Chief Minister underlined that educators are not only providers of knowledge but builders of the nation’s foundation.
In addition, a high-level committee has been formed to consider increasing allowances for Shiksha Mitras and instructors. Based on the committee’s report, further positive steps are expected.
CM Yogi praised government initiatives like Operation Kayakalp and Project Alankar, which improved school infrastructure. Over 1.36 lakh schools received basic facilities under Operation Kayakalp, and 2,100 schools got new buildings through Project Alankar. Programs like Nipun Bharat Mission and Bal Vatika focus on early childhood education, nutrition, and skills development.
Highlighting reforms in the UP secondary education board, CM Yogi stated that exams are now conducted transparently with CCTV surveillance, eliminating past irregularities. He expressed pride in the progress made and encouraged teachers to share innovative practices to inspire others.
