Stagnant Pollution Levels Despite Rain
The recent rain in Uttar Pradesh has failed to bring about a significant improvement in air quality. In Noida Sector-116, the Air Quality Index (AQI) measured 216, categorizing the air quality as very poor. The situation is alarming, especially considering that rain is often expected to clear pollutants from the air.
Deteriorating Air Quality in Ghaziabad
The city of Ghaziabad, including areas like Vasundhara and Loni, continues to face deteriorating air quality. The AQI levels in Vasundhara were recorded at 232, while Loni experienced even higher pollution levels with an AQI of 243. These figures highlight the ongoing challenges posed by air pollution in the region.
Severe Conditions in Greater Noida
Greater Noida faced even more severe air quality conditions. In Knowledge Park Phase-3, the AQI measured 232, and in Knowledge Park Phase-5, it soared to 275. These levels are indicative of dangerously high pollution levels, necessitating immediate attention and intervention.
Persistent Pollution Challenges
The Central Pollution Control Board’s (CPCB) data underscores the persistent challenges posed by pollution in the region. Despite recent rainfall, the poison of pollution remains in the atmosphere, affecting the health and well-being of residents.
Urgent Need for Measures
With ongoing concerns about air quality, the Meteorological Department’s forecast of further rain in the coming days becomes crucial. However, it is clear that additional measures and interventions are urgently required to address pollution and enhance air quality in Noida-Ghaziabad and surrounding areas.
