Uttar Pradesh: According to a government statement released on Thursday, Yogi Adityanath, who was in Mumbai to meet with representatives of the Indian business community in preparation for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Global Investors Summit (GIS), returned to the state of Uttar Pradesh with investment proposals totaling more than Rs 5 lakh crore.
The chief of Reliance Industries Mukesh Ambani has suggested significant investments in the green energy and electronics manufacturing sectors, including bringing 5G internet connectivity to all of UP and better health services to villages in Uttar Pradesh using artificial intelligence, according to a statement from the UP Government.
On the other side, the Adani Group has expressed interest in building medical institutions on a PPP model in Ballia and Shravasti as well as a skill development centre in Noida that can accommodate 10,000 young people.
During his two-day visit to Mumbai, the Chief Minister met with over two dozen industrialists, including Reliance, Tata Sons, Adani, Godrej, Birla, Piramal, Vedanta, Parle, Hinduja, Lodha, and Ramki, to invite them to join the $5 trillion vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Adani Group discussed action plan for significant investment
With several proposals for investments totaling lakhs of crores of rupees in the next five years, Karan Adani of the Adani Group discussed the action plan for significant investment in the warehousing and logistics sector. These proposals included the establishment of medical colleges on the PPP model in Ballia and Shravasti as well as a skill development centre in Noida. Cement units were also discussed being built in seven different locations.
Karan Adani praised CM Yogi's industrial initiatives and highlighted plans for expanding Lucknow Airport as well as a strategy for developing the UP Defence Corridor into the second-largest ammunition hub in the world, after Brazil. In addition, the Adani Group will make investments in the production of silos and smart metres.
The chairman of the Aditya Birla Group, Kumar Mangalam Birla, requested cooperation from the government in order to build one of the biggest convention centres in the world in Noida. The chairman of Birla Group commended the sectoral policies of Uttar Pradesh, and he presented the chief minister with his action plan for investments in the food processing, data centre, warehousing and logistics, and solar energy industries.
Ajay Piramal of Piramal Enterprises announced that he would join the Prime Minister in his commitment to a TB-free India and that he would launch a special campaign in Varanasi. He also expressed an interest in creating a Pharma Park.
Similar to this, JSW Group MD Sajjan Jindal also talked of establishing a modern Pumped Storage Plant for electricity generation at Sonbhadra, an EV manufacturing facility in Kanpur, and a new paint facility. Jindal additionally declared his willingness to help build a temple and Naimishdham in Kanpur.
