Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath is accelerating its transition towards clean and sustainable transportation with the expansion of its electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure under the PM e-Drive Scheme and the Uttar Pradesh EV Policy 2022.
Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath Expands EV Charging Network
According to a statement shared by senior IAS officer Awanish K. Awasthi, the state will install 238 public EV charging stations equipped with 714 charging points during the first phase of the initiative. The charging stations will be set up at key public locations to improve accessibility and support the growing adoption of electric vehicles.
EV Charging Network Under PM e-Drive Scheme
The initiative is aimed at making electric mobility more convenient for residents while encouraging the use of environmentally friendly transport. The expanded charging network is also expected to attract fresh investments in the EV sector and create opportunities for innovation and manufacturing.
The Uttar Pradesh government, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has been promoting policies to strengthen the state’s EV ecosystem through infrastructure development and industry-friendly initiatives.
Officials believe the expansion of charging infrastructure will play a key role in positioning Uttar Pradesh as a leading hub for electric vehicle manufacturing, innovation, and sustainable mobility in India.
