Uttar Pradesh Scripts History Under CM Yogi Adityanath, Becomes First State to Table Economic Survey, Here’s What It Means

CM Yogi Adityanath: The Uttar Pradesh government presented the state’s economic survey 2025-26, revealing its investment-powered plan to make the Northern state an economy of $1 trillion in the coming years.

The survey, which was presented by Finance Minister Suresh Khanna, provided details about the finances, economy and critical sectors of Uttar Pradesh. The survey revealed that the gross state domestic product of Uttar Pradesh grew at an average rate of 10.8 percent every year. It was also disclosed that economy of the state surged to Rs 30.25 lakh crore in 2024-25 from Rs 13.30 lakh crore in 2016-17; it is now expected to reach a staggering Rs 36 lakh crore in 2025-26.

CM Yogi Adityanath-From A Bimaru State To The Country’s Most Progressive State

Uttar Pradesh received investment proposals from domestic and international investors worth more than Rs. 50 lakh crore. The CM Yogi Adityanath led UP government remarked the state’s investment policy is based on safety, stability and speed – the Triple “S” model. This translates to stable policies, better law and order and faster project approvals.

Presently, the state is leveraging digital platforms such as Nivesh Mitra for project clearances.

In the last few years, the count of state’s registered factories has nearly doubled to 30,000 while industrial gross value has surged by 25 percent, which is the highest among the country’s major states.

Uttar Pradesh-The State Of Expressways

The state of Uttar Pradesh is being developed as the expressway hub of the country, with 22 expressways in different stages of completion. Seven of them are already operational while three are under construction. Uttar Pradesh has India’s biggest rail network in the country.

It plans to have 24 airports soon, including 5 international airports [Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport (Lucknow), Kushinagar International Airport (Kushinagar), Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport (Varanasi), Maharishi Valmiki International Airport (Ayodhya) and the soon-to-be operational Noida International Airport (Jewar).
