“We have made criminals & mafia beg for their lives”: Adityanath

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Yogi Adityanath has said that this is the new Uttar Pradesh. The mafia who once roamed around with their heads hanging, are begging for their lives with placards hanging around their necks.

During the program, he said – before the year 2017, the mafia and professional criminals used to walk with their heads held high… youth, women and businessmen… all of them used to roam around saving their lives somehow, did not come out of the house. The shops used to close before sunset. There used to be desolation in the markets. You must have seen that after 2017, there is activity in the markets.

According to Adityanath, “Women can leave anytime. This is because there is no security threat. Today you must be seeing that the same criminals are forced to beg for their lives by hanging placards around their necks. This is the new Uttar Pradesh.”

On Monday, the CM while targeting the previous governments of the opposition had claimed that now festivals and festivals are the identity of Uttar Pradesh, not nuisance and mafia. Inaugurating the UP Municipal Corporation election campaign from Saharanpur (the land of Maa Shakambhari and Bala Sundari), Adityanath said in the public meeting, “No extortion, now UP is nobody’s inheritance” and “Aaj UP mein na curfew na danga”.
