The campaign will be accompanied by several environment-focused initiatives in Lucknow, including the establishment of the ‘Maharshi Charak Aushadhi Van’, the launch of the Uttar Pradesh Clean Air Management Project, the unveiling of the logo for the Tree Plantation Campaign 2026, and the notification of 100 wetlands across the state.

Officials said these measures are intended to strengthen biodiversity conservation, improve air quality, protect natural ecosystems, and encourage sustainable environmental practices. The notification of additional wetlands is expected to contribute to the preservation of water resources and wildlife habitats.

The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of protecting nature and urged citizens to participate in the plantation drive by planting a tree in the name of their mothers. The initiative seeks to combine environmental responsibility with social and cultural values, encouraging wider community involvement.

Following the environmental programmes in Lucknow, the Chief Minister is scheduled to visit Balrampur, where he will participate in the inauguration and foundation-laying ceremonies of various development projects. The projects are expected to support infrastructure growth and public welfare in the region.

The state government has been undertaking large-scale plantation campaigns and conservation programmes in recent years as part of its broader environmental strategy. Officials believe that increasing green cover, conserving wetlands, and improving air quality are essential for sustainable development and ecological balance.

On World Environment Day, the government renewed its appeal for collective action toward environmental protection, emphasizing the need to safeguard forests, water bodies, and natural resources for future generations. Authorities said public participation would remain a key factor in achieving a greener, cleaner, and more sustainable Uttar Pradesh.
