The much-awaited Vande Bharat Express between Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra (SVDK) and Srinagar is set to be launched soon, marking a historic milestone as the first semi-high-speed train for the Kashmir Valley and the third for the Union Territory (UT). The train will be flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and will be operated and maintained by the Northern Railway (NR) zone.

Will Katra-Srinagar Vande Bharat Train Have Dynamic Pricing?

With the anticipation surrounding the launch, there has been speculation regarding whether the Katra-Srinagar Vande Bharat train will have dynamic fare pricing. However, speaking to ETNOW.in, a senior Indian Railways official dismissed these rumors, confirming that the train will not have a dynamic fare structure.

"The final fare chart for the Katra-Srinagar Vande Bharat Express will be released soon," the official added.

What is Dynamic Pricing in Indian Railways?

Indian Railways introduced the dynamic fare system for its premium trains, where ticket prices increase as demand rises and seats fill up. Under this system:

The base fare remains fixed, but additional charges increase with subsequent bookings.

Passengers see the updated fare when they fill out the reservation form.

It applies to premium trains like Rajdhani, Shatabdi, and Duronto Express, but not all Vande Bharat routes follow it.
