Yamuna water level: The water level in Yamuna has breached the danger mark once again and is currently flowing at 205.75 Meters at the Old Railway Bridge in Delhi. The swelling in the water level comes after the release of water from the Hathnikund Barrage into the Yamuna following heavy rain in parts of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. At 10 am in the morning, ANI reported that the river was flowing at 206.01 Meters, which is expected to rise further.
Yamuna water level on rise
After a receding trend for one week, the water level in Yamuna is on the rise once again. The water level in the river has crossed the danger mark, flowing at 206.1 meters. As per the officials, this happened due to the continuous release of water from the Hathnikund barrage following the heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.

As per reports, over one lakh cubic meters of water per second is being released from the Hathnikund Barrage.
National Capital on high alert
Delhi government has said that the national capital is on high alert amid the ongoing flood-like situation in the low-lying areas. Some reports have suggested that Yamuna Khadar could face flooding in case the water level continues to rise, reaching the 206.7 meters mark.
The government is full prepared
Speaking about the flood-like situation, Delhi Revenue Minister Atishi said, “According to the latest update from the Central Water Commission, there is a possibility that the water level in Yamuna may cross the danger mark by tomorrow evening. The government has been closely monitoring the developments and overseeing the response efforts.”
She assured that the government is fully prepared to perform immediate evacuation in these low-lying areas.
