    R-Surakshaa: Reliance to roll out its own Covid-19 vaccination programme for staff

    Reliance Industries Limited on Friday announced that the company will be rolling out a COVID-19 vaccination programme for its employees and their family members above the age of 18 years from May 1. The vaccination programme is called ‘R-Surakshaa’.

    In a letter to RIL employees, the Chairman and Managing Director RIL Mukesh Ambani and Chairperson Reliance Foundation Nita Ambani said that the COVID-19 vaccine is a key weapon again the coronavirus and the company has continued to bear the vaccination cost for all the eligible members.

    “In addition, as per the new guidelines of the Government of India, we are pleased to announce that Reliance will roll out its own vaccination programme, R-Surakshaa, across all locations for our employees and eligible family members above the age of 18 years, effective May 1,” the letter added.

    “We have seamlessly transitioned to ‘Work from home’ for more than 13 months without disruption to our businesses,” he said.

    Ambani urges to avail shot at safety:

    “We urge you to avail your shot at safety without any delay and encourage your eligible family members to do the same,” the Ambanis wrote. Sharing their action plan to tackle the virus for the next three months, they urged those employees not affected by Covid-19 to support their peers who have been infected in case they need time off. “Our priority remains the safety and health of our people. Do everything possible to uphold this principle and safeguard members of your team and their families,” the letter read.

    The Reliance Foundation continues to be on the ground addressing the humanitarian challenges, distributing more than 5.5 crore meals and 67 lakhs masks among the needy sections in the society, it added.

    Employees were also urged to provide support to the peers, colleagues, and teams.

    The announcement comes as India registered the world’s highest single-day tally for the second day in a row. As many as 332,730 fresh Covid-19 cases were recorded on Friday and the total infection count went up to 16,263,695. The number of people who died of the disease in 24 hours went up to 2,263, pushing the total toll to 186,920.

    Nita Ambani, founder of the Reliance Foundation has announced the expansion of Indian Super League (ISL). With the inclusion of East Bengal in the seventh season of India’s top football league.

    “It is such a happy and proud moment for ISL as we welcome East Bengal FC and their millions of fans into the league. The inclusion of both legacy clubs, i.e. East Bengal and Mohun Bagan (now ATK Mohun Bagan) opens limitless possibilities for Indian football, especially for talent development in the state,” said Nita in a statement.

    “West Bengal has made an immense contribution to the growth of the beautiful game in India. ISL’s growing footprint in the state and across India, is yet another step towards our mission of building a competitive and robust football ecosystem in the country,” she added.

    The seventh season of ISL will be played behind closed doors without the spectators at three venues – Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Fatorda; GMC Athletic Stadium, Bambolim; and Tilak Maidan Stadium, Vasco.
