Apple iOS 17.1.1: As a rapid repair for a few critical issues that were initially scheduled to be fixed in iOS 17.2, Apple has released iOS 17.1.1. This update, which addresses several vulnerabilities, was released soon after iOS 17.1. In this article, we will tell you all that the new update has been fixed.
Apple iOS 17.1.1 details
While there aren’t any new features with this iOS version (for iPhone 15 and earlier), it does concentrate on fixing important flaws in the system. This update was published a few weeks after Apple launched iOS 17.1, the first major iOS upgrade since iOS 17 in September of this year.
This update resolves an issue that Apple previously noted could occur “rarely” while using certain cars to wirelessly charge iPhone 15 models. Services like Apple Pay and other NFC functions may then become unavailable. Reports surfaced earlier this month indicating that certain iPhone 15 models’ NFC chips were allegedly malfunctioning when they were being wirelessly charged in BMW cars. It appears that BMW has finally finished the repair after acknowledging the problem and saying it was working with Apple to find a solution.
The weather widget on the home screen not displaying snow is another bug that this release fixes. The “Weather Lock Screen widget may not correctly display snow” in versions earlier than iOS 17.1.1, according to Apple. This update fixes the issue just in time for winter in most areas of the world.
How to download?
You have to have an iPhone that is compatible. You then need to go to Settings > General > Software Update. You must press “Download and Install” here. To ensure a seamless updating procedure, make sure you have a strong connection and that your battery is at least 50% to 60% before starting.

If you live in the US and recently bought an iPhone 15 and also have a BMW, then you may have noticed that after wirelessly charging your new phone in your BMW, services like Apple Pay stopped working.
Also, the weather app had stopped displaying snow on the home screen. Both of these bugs have been fixed with the release of the new update.
