Apple iOS 17.4 released, comes packed with New Emojis, Support for Third-Party App Stores, Details

Apple updated the Settings app on the iPhone 15 series with iOS 17.4, which improves the Battery UI.

Apple iOS 17.4: Starting on March 5, Apple has begun rolling out the iOS 17.4 operating update to compatible iPhones. This version adds new emojis, more battery information, transcripts for Apple Podcasts, and more. The system upgrade also enhances security and addresses issues on iPhones.

In the European Union, where Apple is required to abide by the new Digital Markets Act (DMA), the update offers much-needed compatibility for third-party app shops. Among the improvements in iOS 17.4 are new emojis, modifications to the iPhone 15 models’ battery interface, transcripts for Apple podcasts, and additions to the Stolen Device Protection feature.

In this article, we will tell you about all the features that iOS 17.4 brings to the iPhone.

Apple iOS 17.4 features

New Emojis

Apple has updated its emoji keyboard with new symbols, such as the mushroom, phoenix, lime, and broken chain. Users can also create 18 body emojis for people to face in their direction.

Apple Music

Users will be able to add songs and audio tracks straight from the Music Recognition app to their playlists and libraries with the release of iOS 17.4. The Apple Music Classical edition is also compatible with this feature.

Apple Podcast

With iOS 17.4, the Podcasts app for the iPhone has undergone a significant upgrade. Transcripts of podcast episodes can be followed in real-time by users. To match the audio, relevant text will be highlighted in the transcript. Users may also search for a word or phrase within the podcast and tap on it to start playing from that precise moment, as well as read the entire transcript of an episode.
There are German, French, and English transcripts available for Apple Podcasts. The transcript that is provided is also compatible with the accessibility capabilities of the iPhone, which include text size, contrast, and other adjustments.

Battery Health

The iPhone 15, 15 Plus, 15 Pro, and 15 Pro Max models now display the battery’s first use, manufacturing date, and cycle count in the Settings section under the Battery Health section.

Siri

With this latest upgrade, users can now hear their messages on their iPhones in every language that Apple’s speech assistant supports.

Additional updates

Increased security settings in stolen device protection are among the other noteworthy enhancements that the iOS 17.4 update will bring to iPhones. Users can choose to have more security everywhere with the upgrade. Before, the feature was limited to uncharted territory.
