Apple: It has been rumoured that Apple is preparing to reveal ground-breaking generative AI-based capabilities for its highly sought-after iPhone series at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2024, which is set to take place in June, in a tech competition with its rivals. In this article, we will share all we know.
Apple likely to introduce generative AI capabilities for iPhone
Mark Gurman claims that Apple has major plans to advance AI in 2024, introducing a range of generative AI-powered tools for the iPhone and other goods. The business plans to provide these capabilities together with the iOS 18 update, according to a Bloomberg story. Numerous AI-powered capabilities, like auto-summary, app auto-completion, and AI integration with Apple Music, are reportedly on the way from Apple. Also, new AI-based developer tools are allegedly something the corporation will unveil.
Additionally, according to Gurman, Apple has been developing Ajax, a proprietary Large Language Model (LLM), from the beginning of 2023. The LLM is primarily being created to bring AI capabilities to iPhones and Macs, as well as to smoothly integrate AI into its services, which include Siri, Apple Music, core apps, and more. It is not unexpected, though, that Apple would choose to introduce the features gradually given Cupertino's careful approach to introducing new technology.
Expected launch details
Apple may disclose its motive at WWDC 2024, but Apple is still lagging behind the competition, despite its recent improvements. Gurman estimates that Apple's generative AI goal won't be fully realised until at least 2025. Apple's main competitors in the Android market, Google and Samsung, are stepping up their AI services in the meantime.
