ChatGPT: Artificial intelligence (AI) has seen a lot of change in the last several years, particularly with the introduction of Microsoft's Copilot and OpenAI's quickly evolving ChatGPT. In a recent episode of the podcast, Unconfuse Me with Bill Gates, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates had a discussion with Sam Altman of OpenAI.
Bill Gates surprised by how good ChatGPT is
Prominent for his charitable endeavours and co-founding of Microsoft, Gates acknowledged his early scepticism over ChatGPT's potential, saying, "I was privileged to see your work as it evolved, and I was very sceptical. I didn’t expect ChatGPT to get so good. It blows my mind."
Additionally, Altman disclosed his aspirational goals for the well-liked chatbot driven by AI. The 38-year-old CEO of ChatGPT made hints about a big upgrade to the platform's functionality, such as multimodality and improved reasoning.
ChatGPT's future
In the episode, Altman indicates that physical labour-intensive blue-collar jobs and robotics are worth investigating. He disclosed that OpenAI recently made investments in robotics and is closely monitoring hardware technology improvements.
