Elon Musk's X fined $350000

The district court had granted a search warrant in a criminal case, according to the recently disclosed court documents, and ordered Twitter to submit material pertaining to Donald Trump's Twitter account. The nondisclosure order that forbade the corporation from informing anyone of its existence was issued simultaneously with the search warrant.

“Although Twitter ultimately complied with the warrant, the company did not fully produce the requested information until three days after a court-ordered deadline. The district court thus held Twitter in contempt and imposed a $350,000 sanction for its delay." the court filing read.

Twitter's Defence

Twitter contended that the non-disclosure order infringed upon its First Amendment rights in its appeal to the district court and that the court ought to have postponed the execution of the warrant until the social media juggernaut's concerns were settled. Additionally, it stated that the district court failed to exercise its discretion by finding Twitter in contempt and applying the penalty.

Additionally, Twitter stated that turning up the documents before the district court determined whether the nondisclosure agreement was legitimate would prevent the former president from "asserting executive privilege to shield communications made using his Twitter account," according to the Associated Press.
