GST Reforms: Indian Government has reduced Good and services Tax (GST) on electronic items such as mobile phones, TVs and Home Appliances which has given a sense of relief to the common citizen of the country. Earlier, the GST on mobile phones and Home Appliances was 31.3%, which rates are now decreased to 12%. The Finance Ministry informed about this reform by sharing a tweet to lower the GST rates on Electronic Items such as Mobile Phones, TV, washing machine, UPS, refrigerators and other Home Appliances.

TVs will Get Cheaper

Government has lessen the GST rates on Television under the screen size of 27 inches from 31 percent to 18 percent, most of the people will not get any benefit from this reform as almost all brands manufacture TVs with the screen size of 32 inches or more, so this reform will not make a big change on ground.

Mobile Phones wll Get Cheaper

Government has significantly decreased the GST rates on Mobile Phones, earlier the GST on Mobile phones was 31.3 percent, but now it is reduced to 12 percent, people will be able to take the actual benefit by this reform as they will be no longer putting a 31 percent extra amount of the value of their mobile phone in the Government's pockets.

Home Appliances will also be Cheaper

The Government has also taken down GST rates on Home Apliances such as refrigerators, washing machines, fans, cooler and geysers from 31.3 percent to 18 percent, the prices of these appliances are decreased by 12 percent. Alsp, the 15 percent GST on LEDs is now reduced to 12 percent.
