Google Passkeys: By making "passkeys" the standard sign-in technique for all users, Google has made a big contribution to improving user security. Users can log into apps and websites using biometric sensors, such as fingerprint or facial recognition, a personal identification number (PIN), or a special pattern, as an alternative to passwords. Users are freed from the hassle of keeping and remembering complicated passwords thanks to this new solution.
What is Google Passkeys?
Passkeys, a biometric sensor (facial recognition/fingerprint), pattern, and PIN assist the user in logging into their accounts and are more secure than passwords. Accordingly, the Google Passkeys function will be crucial in preventing hacking.
Passkeys provide instant benefits, most notably relieving users from the burden of remembering several numbers and special characters associated with conventional passwords. A strong defence against phishing attempts is also offered by them.
What did Google say?
In a blog post, Google said, "This means the next time you sign in to your account, you’ll start seeing prompts to create and use passkeys, simplifying your future sign-ins. It also means you’ll see the 'Skip password when possible' option toggled on in your Google Account settings."
